Perth Engagement Photos | Expos and Awesome Couples

… the engagement photos

We continue to prepare for the Dusk Bridal Fair and I thought I would blog the engagement photos from Rachel & Steve. When I first met Rachel, her sisters and her Mum she was at an Expo I exhibited at in Fremantle. She, and her family, was fantastic and I was so excited when she and Steve decided to book us as their wedding photographers. As part of that exhibit we held a contest, “Put a Smile on My Dial” and this couple were our winners.

The contest was open to the clients that booked us from that particular Expo. To be eligible they had to write a story on how they had met… basically the one who made me smile the most won! Well, Rachel & Steve’s was not only funny but very adorable. As part of the prize I got to blog the story with some photos from the engagement shoot that they won, along with a cool Signing Book to use at the Reception.

Watch for us to have a similar competition at this year’s Dusk Bridal Fair. If you don’t know about it, click here for more information!

So, enjoy the story and the photos… ;)

Steve and I were both living in London in 2007 but had never met.  Gin (one of my best friends) used to spend a lot of time in the same friendship circles as Steve some years ago but not for some time.  She decided to invite Steve away on a long weekend in Amsterdam with myself and other friends with the aim of setting him up with my other best friend Shelley!  This was unbeknownst to Steve of course who just thought he was up for a fun weekend with lots of girls ;-)

We girls got there a night before Steve and having spent all that night up partying and taking a few …. we were definitely not looking our glamorous best for match-making the next afternoon when he arrived!

Despite Gin’s determined attempts to play Cupid (including enlisting the rest of us to help too) it didn’t quite work out and indeed some thought it a little odd that Gin was trying to set Shelley (an English girl) up with Steve who not only was Aussie like me but from Perth too, and even went to the same high school as my sisters!  We all had an awesome weekend with lots of partying – during that time Steve had come up with a smooth excuse to get my phone number as well as trying to talk me into giving him a midnight shoulder massage and Gin’s plans seemed scuppered.

To give her credit though, once we got back to London she immediately switched tactics and invited Steve out with us girls for about 4 weekends in a row to allow us to get to know each other better.  And the rest, as we say, is history…..

I can’t tell you how much we appreciate wonderful clients and Rachel & Steve reside amongst the best we’ve had. We had so much fun on the engagement shoot and can’t wait to shoot their wedding at Aravina Estate in just over a week’s time. Enjoy the leadup to the wedding guys and we’ll see you soon!

Have a Rockin’ Great day everyone and come see us at the Dusk Bridal Fair this weekend! Who knows, your engagement photos could be the next ones on our blog! ;)
