victoria & john

the wedding…

Victoria and I met two years ago when she was the celebrant for a couple whose wedding I photographed, Tanya and Matt (hey guys!). Both the ceremony and reception was held on a fishing charter boat and after the ceremony Victoria and I had a chance to chat. Instant click! A year later we caught up again at another wedding and I got to hear all about her beautiful John who was obviously sweeping her off her feet! Not too long after they were engaged and she rang me to photograph her wedding. I was soooo excited. Victoria has one of those infectious smiles and bubbly fun personalities that makes you want to spend time with her! She is one of the most vibrant celebrants I’ve worked with and I can’t recommend her enough. What a treat to be invited to share in her and John’s special day and to photograph the two of them smiling all day!

I’d like to again thank John from Launch Film Productions! It’s always great working with John and he’s a fantastic videographer!

I’d also like to mention Pamela Eaves, the celebrant. I always think it would be quite difficult to work a wedding for someone who is in the same industry. Pamela was fantastic and was a beautiful and calming addition to the day. She is another celebrant that I love working with and she has a beautiful elegance about her and her ceremonies!

Thanks so much guys and I hope you enjoy the photos! Marty and I loved spending the wedding day with you! If anyone is looking for a fantastic celebrant, be sure to look Victoria up! While you’re chatting to her ask how she and John met… it’s a FANTASTIC story!!! Makes you love weddings even more!

bobbie & brendon…

… the wedding

Most of Perth woke up on Saturday the 20th of December with dark grey clouds and storms looming off the coast… Bobbie just wanted to arrive at the church dry, it wasn’t looking promising! As Marty and I drove to the hotel where we she was staying we went through the thickest of storms, barely even able to see the cars in front of us. Marty turned to me, laughed, and watched me sink into the car seat burying my face in my hands. It looked like my streak of good weather was coming to an end! This was going to be fun!

Good news… the storm we found ourselves in seemed to pass quickly, one of the only bonuses I could think of with the howling winds we were having… did I mention it was windy too??? As I got out and gathered my things for the morning shoot the clouds seemed to open up and blue skies were sneaking a peak at Perth. Perhaps Mother Nature would be kind… I was trying to figure out if I’d ticked off any of the Gods lately as I picked up my camera bag… I didn’t like the length of the list I was quickly tallying, there were any number that could be a bit peeved with me!

Fortunately, I think they all favoured Bobbie on this day. She looked gorgeous when I arrived and was ready to jump into her sleek dress and get to the church, we still had nearly 2 hours to go! So, I had one the most easy going mornings ever and it was fantastic. Well, with one MINOR complaint, I STILL have “going to the chapel… and we’re gonna get married…” in my head. I’m sure I heard it several times in the hotel room, and again in the limo on the way! You owe me for that one Bobbie! ;)

Well, we arrived at the church in South Perth dry, with a broken bracelet as the only drama for the day, it must have offered itself as a tradeoff for the fantastic weather we had all day! After a beautiful ceremony we headed to UWA for some photos and then the the South of Perth Yacht Club where a friend allowed us to use his boat (BIG boat) for some shots as well… Thanks so much!!!

As you can see, Mother Nature was kind and it was an amazing day! Enjoy your travels guys and I can’t wait to see you when you get back!

Thanks also to John from Launch Film Productions for his great company, great style and comedic relief! I can’t wait to see the video!
